Ngangkari Healer is a deeply personal and spiritually charged drawing created in colored pencil on acid-free paper — born during a remarkable creative session at Alex Grey's Art Church, a gathering where artists come together in a high-vibrational space of shared creative and spiritual energy. As the session unfolded, a song about Frank Lloyd Wright came on — and for Jessica, whose father was a gifted architect and one of Frank Lloyd Wright's own apprentices, working alongside Mr. Wright on some of his most extraordinary and celebrated structures, this was an unmistakable sign: her father was present in the room, guiding her hand. In that charged and tender moment, a figure revealed herself through the drawing — a healer woman, ancient and knowing, surrounded by swirling fields of energy. Jessica believes this figure to be one of her own past lives.
The Ngangkari are the traditional healers of the Anangu people of Australia's Western Desert — among the most ancient healing traditions on earth. Ngangkari healers work not with the physical body alone but with the invisible energy fields that surround and permeate all living beings, sensing, drawing out, and rebalancing the energies that cause illness, imbalance, and pain. They are visionaries and intermediaries — beings who move between worlds, who see what others cannot see, and who carry within them the accumulated healing wisdom of countless generations. To recognize oneself as a Ngangkari in a past life is to acknowledge a soul with deep roots in the sacred work of healing, seeing, and serving.
At the center of the composition, the healer sits in quiet, powerful stillness — cross-legged, grounded, her face serene and inwardly focused, her hands open in her lap. She is rendered in warm earth tones of gold and olive, her presence ancient and solid amid the swirling energy that surrounds her. Around her, great sweeping arcs of cobalt blue, deep magenta, and violet spiral and orbit in magnificent, overlapping circles — the visible signature of her healing energy field, reaching outward in all directions, touching and transforming everything within its vast, generous radius.
This is a work about the continuity of the soul — the healing gifts that travel with us across lifetimes, the loved ones who find ways to reach us across the veil, and the extraordinary moments when art becomes a portal between worlds.
For the discerning collector, Ngangkari Healer is a work of extraordinary spiritual depth, personal narrative, and visual power — a rare and deeply meaningful fine art print that brings the energy of ancient healing wisdom, soul recognition, and loving presence into any space. It is a natural choice for a meditation room, healing space, living room, or any curated interior where art is chosen for its power to illuminate, protect, and inspire.
